Case Studies – Glomus Tumor

16  year old boy has severe pain in the left thumb.

Point tenderness which is called as Love’s test was positive, which is test to confirm glomus tumor as shown in the figure that the patient is wincing with pain.

Radiographs were normal.

MRI confirmed glomus tumor.

Surgery was performed and the tumor was removed enblock and sent for histopathology.

This tumor is a benign tumor, however severe pain and inability to work warrants its removal.
